If you head over to Google Trends - that shows how often a particular search-term is used - the Mountain View-based company has compiled for you lists broken down into categories - globally as well as country wise breakdown - that tell you what the world was searching for in 2015.
The top 5 most searched terms in India this year were:

Indo-Canadian adult star turned Bollywood actor Sunny Leone was the most searched person of the year. Leone was followed closely by actor Salman Khan and the late former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam. PM Narendra Modi was the 10th most searched person of 2015. A large part of this list is occupied by celebrities, notably, Bollywood actors.
Bahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan were the top two most searched Bollywood movies as per Google Trends. At the same time, Indian batsman Virat Kohli was the most searched sports personality in 2015.
